In the heart of Camero Viejo, 800 meters far from the nearest village, San Roman de Cameros, it’s where Velilla is located, one of the most charming places in La Rioja.
While some time ago, this small village was ruled by its own City Hall, nowadays its houses have collapsed after having been abandoned by its inhabitants. However, we felt in love with Velilla´s natural appeal.

First time we met Velilla, we went into raptures over its calm and peace.

Bridge over a sloping stream; old church, cows and mares walking freely in the streets, rustling of trees… are the things that make Velilla a captivating place in the mountains.

As soon as we got this feeling, we were sure that Velilla was the right place we had been looking to build our shelter.

Time went by and our interest for sharing this landscape and all Velilla can offer kept on growing faster.

And that is the way Casas de Velilla was born.

Joining common elements from the surroundings such as stone and wood, four houses were rebuilt. We set our heart and hopes on it. We keep on working hardly to go on our rebuilding task with the same strength and illusion of the first day that Velilla inspired on us, where the time seems to stop and its peace and calm take over our lifes.
